I’m Eden Joy. I write historical fantasy that brings hope.

Stories have always been a place of escape, wonder, and possibility for me—worlds where courage matters, where light breaks through darkness, and where even the smallest choices can change the course of history. Through my writing, I seek to create that same sense of wonder for others, crafting tales that inspire, encourage, and remind readers they are not alone in their struggles.

Growing up, I experienced the love and loss of walking alongside over a dozen bonus siblings through foster care and Safe Families for Children. Those experiences shaped the way I see the world and the stories I tell. I write for teens who are caught in the in-between—longing for a better world while navigating the one they’re in. My characters wrestle with big questions, face impossible choices, and fight for something greater than themselves, just like so many young people do every day.

My stories are wholesome but honest, filled with adventure, heartache, and hope. I believe in writing books that acknowledge pain without glorifying it, that honor the struggles of real life while still offering the possibility of something more. Whether it’s historical settings with a touch of the fantastical or entirely new worlds built from scratch, my goal is always the same: to tell stories that matter.

When I’m not writing, editing, or curating Pinterest boards for my books, you’ll probably find me at my local library, surrounded by the stories that first inspired me to write. I also love rock climbing, learning new languages, and engaging in the occasional (and highly competitive) word game battle with family and friends. No matter what I’m doing, though, stories are always at the heart of it—because stories shape us, and I hope mine can help shape someone else’s journey too.
